About
Who is Trixy?
Trixy is a Portland, Oregon-based human aiming to instill compassion and purpose into digital environments used by other humans. Trixy advocates what is best for the users and the business by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and end-users with an empathetic and understanding mindset while always putting ease and simplicity first and foremost in her design decisions. Currently she is a User Experience Designer at Nike working with the Global Technology Operations | Retail Support Solutions team.

After 14 years of working in the retail industry, Trixy can identify not only what drives conversion but also how to ensure a positive customer experience as people navigate digital environments. Customers are at the heart of what makes a business successful and when done well, a business thrives off of the satisfaction and efficiencies that benefit customers, which is something that she is passionate about and consistently aims to achieve.

Trixy owns a business called Black Thistle Co, where she designs wedding stationery and has the privilege of being a part of couples most important day by translating their love story into a tangible work of art that they get to share with their loved ones. In addition to wedding stationery, Black Thistle Co collaborates with other small business owners in developing graphic design assets such as logos, stationery, and digital illustrations. Because of the successful partnerships Trixy has developed within the wedding industry among other talented wedding vendors, her work has been featured in publications such as Oregon Bride Magazine, Hey Wedding Lady, and Destination I Do Magazine.

Inspired by music, architecture, and fashion, Trixy loves exploring the how and why behind the creation of such subjects and will spend hours getting lost in documentaries or podcasts that discuss creative processes. She considers it her fuel for inspiration and uses this fuel to find ways to express her own creativity whether it be in digital design, calligraphy, or woodworking.
